Abstract

196,414. James, W. H. Clarke-. Feb. 2, 1922. Hasp fastenings; catches, spring.-A haspfastening comprising an elongated hole c<1> in the hasp c which engages over a turn-button b<2> on the lock case a, has the turn-button controlled by a spring e whereby it automatically assumes the fastening position when the hasp has passed over the button and released a spring catch d which retains the button in the unfastened position. The turn-button, the rear of which is shown in Fig. 3, has a notch b<4> with which the catch d engages, and a notch b<7> with which the usual key-operated bolt f engages to lock the turn-button in the fastened position. In a modification shown in Fig. 7, the locking- bolt f is mounted on the rear of the turn-button, and is moved into locking engagement with the projection b<4> on the catch d by a key inserted in the hub of the turn-button.
