Abstract
195,975. Baehr, G. April 6, 1922, [Convention date]. Vehicle windows.-Windows for vehicles of the convertible open-to-closed type and particularly of the type having two doors hinging on a single pillar, are hinged on a common removable shaft 7 and can rotate with or independently of the doors. The shaft 7 is secured to the body by a bent tongue 8 clamped in the upper part of the post 9 and to the canopy frame by a stud 13, which is held in a slot in the frame bv a sliding spring bolt. The windows are secured to folds of the hood bv suitable fastenings, such as are described in Specification 155,567, at the vertical edges and to the doors by a push-button fastening 19 having a hook adapted to engage a staple in the window frame. The front windows may be arranged to swing transversely and together to form a screen for the rear seat. A hook or the like may be provided to secure the windows together when dismounting them. In a modification, one of the windows is swung on the upper edge of the door, and the door may have a hinged outer panel to cover the two windows when folded.
