Abstract
195,545. Brassington, W. T., and Hodgetts, E. C. May 9, 1922. Tables convertible into chairs.-In armchairs of the kind in which the hinged back h can be turned to form a table top, hinge pins k projecting from the back h work in T- slots m, m<1>, l formed in the inner faces of the arm-rests g and back legs b, the slot m being longer than the slot m<1>. To convert the chair into a table the back is lifted and turned down, the pins k sliding in the slots l, m<1>. The side edges of the back and armrests are stepped or chamfered so as to fit together and the back is secured by bolts t sliding in recesses. If the back is turned so that one pin k slides in the slot m while the other slides in the slot m<1>, it can be detached from the chair. The back normally rests against a detachable roller n which is adjustable in slotted brackets g.
