194,535. Fears, R., and Bell, W. M. March 4, 1922. Spindle apparatus.-The bobbins of machines for spinning or twisting flax, hemp, jute, or other yarns are supported on non-rotating discs B pivotally connected to arms b<1> of bell-crank levers, the other arms b<2> actuating adjustable brake-blocks b', so that a downwardly acting retarding thrust, which increase as the bobbin fills, is exerted on the conical flanges a of the bobbin.
