Abstract
192,290. Higgs, A. H., and Ferranti, Ltd. Feb. 6, 1922. Addition to 191,971. Switchboards, protective arrangements. - In protective arrangements for switchgear, as described in the parent Specification, but where the cables supplied through such gear are equipped with core-balancing type current transformers, the earth conductor f is taken through the core of the transformer g of the cable protective gear. The relay of the transformer g trips the oil-switch a when excess current flows in the conductor f, due either to a fault in the cable or to a breakdown of the insulation of the apparatus. There may also be provided a connection to conductor f from the secondaries of transformers c and d.
