Abstract

Scrapers.-Fitters' scrapers are constructed from a length of steel ribbon or thin bar steel which is hardened throughout its length, or at one or both ends, and slidably mounted in a holder provided with means for securing the scraper in adjusted position. The holder 4 is constructed, in the form shown in Figs. 2 and 3, with undercut sides 2 to receive the bevelled edges of the scraper. To retain the scraper 1 in position, wedges, gripping- screws or cam levers may be provided, the lugs may be drawn together by a screw or an undercut recess 7, in which is carried a wire 8, may be formed in the holder. A tang 6 may be provided to enter an ordinary form of handle The dovetailed edges may be replaced by square ones, in which case the sides of the holder are made to overlap the scraper, or the holder may be constructed in the form of a flattened tube.
