Abstract
8200. Ricchini, J. June 13,1914, [Convention date]. Scaffolding.-A bearer or support for scaffolding for the use of painters and others comprises an upright 1 of T-iron secured to the scaffold pole &c. 4, an arm 8 pivoted by links 9 to the upper end of the upright, and a strut 10 pivoted to the arm 8 at one end and at the other provided with a beaded bent portion which engages with one or other of a series of keyhole-shaped slots 14 in the web of the upright 1. The double flange of the upright is bent at its upper end as shown at 2, and at its lower end is formed into a fork 3 partly to embrace the pole 4, while the lower end of the web is formed into a spike 5 for driving into the pole. The bearer is secured to the pole by the spike 5 and by a chain 6 hooked to the upper part of the upright 1 and embracing the pole.
