Abstract

Gas analysis.- Gas-testing apparatus of the 'diffusion type' is provided with a system of levers for amplifying and transmitting the movements of the diaphragm to electric contacts controlling the alarm or signal. Thus, the diaphragm 8, Fig. 1, of the porous chamber 5 is connected to a lever 10, and a link 10<b> connects this lever with a lever 1.2 carrying at its end the contact-making device 15. The signal may be the illumination of a red lamp and at the same time the cutting-out of an uncoloured lamp. An arrangement for effecting this is shown in Fig. 3, the diaphragm 8 being connected by a lever 10 and link 10<b> to a lever 14, one end of which moves between contacts 19, 20 connected respectively to the two lamps.
