Abstract

7590. Stone & Co., J., and Darker, A. H. March 25. Lighting systems.-The dynamo of a lighting system, having a switching-arrangement of the kind described in Specification 4073/12, is provided with an auxiliary commutator brush forming one terminal of the field winding, and with commutating- poles the winding of which is connected across a resistance in the manner described in Specification 7589/14. The switching-arrangement is provided with extra contacts controlling the circuit of the windings of the commutator poles. In the arrangemeat shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the field winding r is connected across a contact k of the switching- arrangement and an auxiliary brush b<1> ; while the winding 5 of the commutating-poles is connected across terminal pillars 3, which are in turn connected to movable contacts j<1> adapted to be engaged by fixed brushes 6, 7 by means of which the direction of the current through the winding 5 is maintained constant.
