Abstract

29,175. Russell, J. May 7, 1914. Roller mills.-Crushing-apparatus for coal, coke, clinker, brick, &c. comprises a pair of rolls each consisting of a number of toothed rings 1, Fig. 4, mounted on square shafts, the teeth being angular and working point to point. The distance between the rolls is varied by means of rods 3, Fig. 1, the rolls being maintained in gear by means of idle wheels 2, the axes of which are adjustable in slots in the arms 8 which can be turned about bolts 9. One side 5, Fig. 4, of the feed hopper is adjustable, being secured to the fixed sides by bolts passing through slots 10.
