Metal tubes for frames of cycles, aeroplanes, &c. have helically twisted reinforcing-members inserted therein and secured by drawing down the tube. The reinforcement may be of flat, X, Y, T, triangular, rectangular, or other cross-section, and solid or hollow. A number of V-section members may be assembled to form radiating portions of double thickness.
