Abstract
28,911. Frie, F. Dec. 16. Razors, safety. A foldable safety razor comprises a casing a, a lever d pivoted to the casing and carrying a pivoted guard f kept in the position of use by a spring g, and a blade secured to the guard. The guard and lever may be folded into the casing, and the casing closed, against the action of the springs g, w, the casing being then locked by the catches s. The razor opens automatically into shaving position when the catches are. released, and the casing and cover, opened or closed as desired, operate as a handle. The guard spring g, Fig. 8, is kept in position by a projection engaging an aperture in the guard and holds the guard in the opened position by engaging a flattened top portion of the lever d. One or more separate blades t can be carried in the case beneath one or more catches h. In a modification, the lever d is mounted on a plunger, which is automatically forced out by a spring when the cover of the case is released.
