Water chambers in fireboxes.-A water chamber of the kind in which air passes to the space above the grate between the fire-box wall and the rear wall of the chamber, which is connected to the water space of the boiler, consists of a chamber 6 having a corrugated wall which, being placed against the face of the water leg 3 of the boiler, forms a series of vertical passages 5 for the air, which is heated in passing through them. The chamber 6 is preferably formed with a foot 8, extending over the edge of the grate.
