18,420. Willis, A. P. R. Aug. 15. Folding seats; seat bottoms and backs.-A seat for a hammock or like chair consists of an endless strip of fabric, one half b of which is of waterproof material and the other a of ordinary canvas so that, when the chair is unoccupied, the seat may be pulled round so that the waterproof portion shall be uppermost. A stretcher frame e is pivoted to the frame, and may be turned up so as to stretch the seat, as shown in Fig. 2. In a modification, the upper part h of the back frame of the chair is pivoted to the lower by means of a stop pivot i, and can be turned down when the chair is not in use in order to stretch the seat. If desired, the whole of the seat material may be waterproof.
