Piston valves. - A piston valve in which a perforated tube in communication with the outlet slides through a pair of stuffing - boxes, arranged on either side of the inlet, comprises an openended tube a provided with perforations a<2> and with a rack i adapted to engage a pinion j. The packing d<1> in the stuffing-box d is compressed by a sleeve f screwed into the casing to engage a cage e<5> while the packing f<1> in the stuffing-box f<2>, which is arranged in the sleeve f, is compressed by a screwed sleeve g. The casing is closed by a cap h screwed on to the sleeve f.
