23,202. Hopper, J Oct. 11. Window-holders for sliding sashes; rattling of windows, preventing.-Relates to means for holding, and preventing the rattling of, sliding sashes of motor vehicles &c. A rubber strip c secured in a metal channel strip a<2> is loosely mounted in a channel strip a<1> on one or both sash stiles and is moved outwards against the frame by the engagement of wedge surfaces a<4>, on a movable strip a<3> mounted between the strips a<1>, a', with recesses a<6> in the strip a<2>. The strip a<3> is raised by turning a member d connected by a link e' to a sliding block e' having a pin e<6> engaging a slotted lever e<4>, which is pivoted in the casing e<3> and engages with the upper end of the strip a<3>. The motion of the strip a<2> is limited by the engagement of pins a<5> on the strip a<6> with slots on the strip a<2>. Instead of a rubber strip c, rubber studs may be mounted on the strip a<1>. The device may be fitted in the window frame instead of on the sash.
