Abstract

11,186. Noakes, T. J. May 11. Seats; casings.-A renewable seat D is held in place by a nut E. A packing-ring D<2> is placed between the nut and the casing. The screw - thread is preferably of square crosssection. The wings C' of the valve are recessed near the valve face at C<2>. This construction reduces the scoring-action of the steam. A removable under-cover is provided to permit access to the valve. The valve is specially designed for use with superheated steam.
