Abstract
4860. Fisk, J. W. Layton-. Feb. 27. Mantles.-An ordinary incandescent gas mantle is dipped in a solution of silica with either potassium or sodium silicate diluted with distilled water, dried, and heated over a Bunsen flame; it is then sprayed, whilst warm, with a dry mixture of pulverized refined talc and muschelkalk limestone. Proportions for the various substances are given in the Specification.
