Arc lamps.-An enclosing-device for a flame arc between convergent or other carbons consists of a lower hemispherical chamber b and an umbrellashaped chamber a, the walls of which receive little radiant heat and therefore condense the fumes. The chamber a may be of ordinary or opal glass, or of enamelled or polished metal, and serves as a reflector. Specification 17,448/09 is referred to.
