Drums.-Relates to centrifugal machines of the type in which solids are separated from liquids in a conical rotary drum, provided with an elevating - screw for discharging the separated solids at the narrow upper end, and with liquiddischarge openings in the base at a distance from the axis greater than the radius of the smaller end of the drum. According to the present invention, the elevating-screw e is made narrow so as to allow the liquid sufficient space to escape over it into the drum. The feed-pipe a terminates near the top of the drum. The liquid outlets c may be furnished with regulating-slides, or the diameter of narrow end of the drum can be altered by means of removable pieces.
