Couplings.-A cable connector consists of a tube A, tapered at the ends and split longitudinally, over which are two internally-tapered and externally-screwed shells B, which are tightened over the tube by a nut C, the outer strands D<1> of the cable D being spread outside the tube. The tube need not be split, but may be slitted, to allow it to be compressed on the cable D, and the coupling may be used to connect a stranded conductor to any terminal.
