Typewriters.-A roller h<1>, carrying a roll h consisting of letter-paper &c. r', carbon paper q, and copy paper r, wound concurrently, is removably secured above and behind the platen b by arms g, which are pivoted to a cross-bar d clamped to some part of the paper carriage, for example to the paper-feeding plate a. The roll is mounted upon a cardboard tube h<2> held upon the roller h<1> by pins h<3> and a spring flange i. A spring roller k carried by pivoted arms b may be provided, on to which the copy sheet, or the whole of the sheets, are automatically wound. The whole frame may be turned back when not in use, as shown in Fig. 1. The arms g may be modified to earry two rollers, one for the letter-paper &c. and one for the copy sheet, the carbon sheet being carried by two interchangeable spring rollers mounted in link - work pivoted to the arms. According to the Provisional Specification, loose letter - headings or invoices may be wound up along with the carbon and copy sheets, and receipts, newspaper wrappers, &c. may be used in roll form.
