Abstract
5388. Messerschmidt, A. March 15. No Patent granted (Sealingfee not paid). Hinges. - In a hinge for doors, traps, windows, and the like, the hinge pin 1 forms part of the upper hinge flap 2, its lower conical end 3 rests on the pointed end 4 of the gland pin which closes the socket of the lower flap 5. The hinge pin is of such a length as to separate the edges of the flaps to facilitate the introduction of oil into the bearing-surface of the pin through its longitudinal groove 7.
