Abstract
190,429. Akt.-Ges. Brown, Boveri, et Cie. Dec. 27, 1921, [Convention date]. Regulating and controlling.-When the units of a turbo-compressor are changed from parallel.connection to series connection to increase the pressure, the diffusers are operated at the same time for the maximum opening so that the volume of the air delivery does not diminish. In the parallel connection air enters the pipes 3, 3<1> and is discharged through the delivery pipe 6. To change to the series connection, the valve 1 is operated by the hand-wheel 2 and the discharge from the first half is sent through the pipe 7 and then through the second half to the delivery pipe 6; the valve 4 is closed automatically. The diffusers are simultaneously operated from the hand-wheel 2 through the gearing 8.
