Regulating. - In a steam turbine 1 having chambers 8<1>, 8<2> connected to intermediate stages, so that auxiliary fluid may be supplied for overloading, or partlyused fluid may be extracted for use in other consumers, the chambers 8<1>, 8<2> and the main steam chambers 4 are completely closed relatively to one another, and are connected by separate pipe lines 15, 18, 5 to the admission conduit controlled by the main valve 6. The supply of auxiliary fluid through the pipes 15, 18 and the extraction of interstage fluid through the pipes 16. 19 is controlled by stop-valves 10, 13, 14, 17, 20. The arrangement of pipes may be modified. A valve 23 is opened automatically to discharge the steam remaining in the pipe lines after the closing of the main steam inlet valve 6.
