Abstract
9982. Jacob, A. L. May 2. Belts.-The skirt is supported at the back, and the blouse and skirt band held down at the front by a metal band round the waist. Two strips A', A' are riveted or pivotally secured at the front of the body to a plate B, which is bent over to retain the blouse and skirt band and give a " dip " front " effect. The strips A' are fastened by an adjustable stud and slot connection, a slide A<5> being passed over the joint. Studs D<1> secure the skirt and blouse to a sliding piece D, which may be leather covered. Where no "dip front" is desired, the band may be in one piece, with or without a sliding or fixed plate B, or it may be in two pieces meeting at the plate B.
