Abstract

23,396. Crabb, W. D. Oct. 27. Stoppers.-For use in bottles containing spirits or other liquids, the cork or other stopper c is fitted with a bent delivery tube a, which is divided by a partition h to form a liquid-outlet passage i and an air-inlet passage g, the tube being secured to the stopper by means of a cap b and washer d. The inner ends i<1>, g<1> of the passages i, g are surrounded by cups e, f, which, when the bottle is returned from the inverted to the upright position, become charged by the return flow from the neck of the bottle and the passage i, thus forming a liquid seal to maintain the strength of the contents. The flow of the liquid is regulated by the size of the aperture g<1>.
