Abstract
189,989. Hope, V. Nov. 28, 1921. Switches, quick-break.-In iron-clad switches, the switch blades are mounted on a U-shaped bar pivoted at its sides to the enclosing case and operated by a pin-and-slot connection with an external handle, the pin for the connection moving in a slot in the casing. The switch-bar B and handle D are pivoted on the same pin C, and a tongue piece bent out from the handle D constitutes the pin d<1> which works in a slot b<2> in the bar B. The top of the handle D is twisted so as to lock the cover when the switch is closed. The V-shaped switch blades E are secured to the bar B by an L-shaped anchor piece F and a bolt G which passes into the anchor piece through the apex of the V. A quick break is effected by a spring wound round the screw C' and bearing against the bar B.
