Magazine hand cameras with hand plate-changing and means for preparing negatives.-Relates to plate or card holding-devices for cameras in which the plates cr cards are manually placed in and removed from the focal plane, more particularly cameras with a light-tight sleeve at the rear through which the hand may be inserted to change the plate or card, and to transfer it after exposure to a developing tank opening into the base of the camera, and consists in providing within the camera (1) frictional surfaces to engage the edges of the plate or card and hold it in focal position, and (2) a frame, or stops, to arrest the plate or card in focal position. In the form shown, a camera 1 has attached to its side wall strips 6 the rear edges of which lie in the focal plane of the camera lens. A plate or card, inserted in the camera by hand through a sleeve 5 at the rear, is pressed against the rear edges of the strips and is held by strips of frictional material 8, such as velveteen, glued to the side wallsin rear of the strips 6. In modifications, a rectar.gular frame, or top and bottom stops, replace the strips 6. A further modification constructed of sheet metal comprises a frame 11<1>, Fig. 5, against which the plate or card is pressed, and side walls 13, rigid with the frame 11<1>, carrying velveteen 14 and flared outwardly at their rear edges, the whole being secured in any manner in the camera. A developing and fixing tank 2, fitted with a lifting hook 3, opens into the base of the camera through a slotted light-tight cover 4. According to one Provisional Specification, the frictional grip may also be provided by roughening the surfaces of the holding frames.
