Abstract

185,426. Landis & Gyr Akt.-Ges. Sept. 3, 1921, [Convention date]. Retractive switches; switches, quick-action. - A switch, particularly adapted for operation by time and other automatic mechanism has its movable contacts mounted on current-carrying springs which are controlled by a member moving between the springs and the base-plate. As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the spring strips 6 are fixed by screw bolts 4 to recesses in the base-plate and their outer ends, which carry contacts 7, are bent back so as to tend to make contact with fixed contacts 2. The controlling member 9 is pivoted at 8 and has a lever arm 9<1> to which motion is transmitted by a rod 10. The rod 10 and lever 9' are coupled together by nuts 12 on the rod and a bush 11 situated between the nuts and passing loosely through a hole in the lever. As shown in Fig. 4, the opening movement of the switch is assisted by an adjustable spring 15 which moves over dead centres. One end of the spring 15 is fixed and the other is attached to an extension 16 of the rod 9.
