Abstract

243,007. Bruynis, C. Nov. 13, 1925. Electromagnetic switches; switches, actuating.-An electromagnetic switch in which the operating electromagnet is connected to a lowtension source and the switching takes place in a relatively high-tension circuit comprises an electromagnet a having a fixed core c from which depends a copper rod d which acts as a guide for the upward movements of the annular core f. The core f has pivoted at i a harpoonshaped switch-operating member h having projections adapted to engage pins m, l on the switch bar pivoted at r on successive energizations of the electromagnet, so changing over the switch bar and making and breaking the circuit between contacts s, t (Fig. 5). Blade springs n, o bearing alternately on the side of the plate j move the member h across from one inclined position to the other during the return movement, thus ensuring its engagement with one or other of the pins l, m during the upward movement of the core. A steadying spring w bears on the free end of the contact lever k and a return spring for the core may also be provided. The connection between the member h and lever k may alternatively consist of a pin carried by the lever h engaging suitable notches in the lever k.
