Locking nuts.-A nut a is locked by a steel spring b which embraces an annular recess a<1> in the nut and has a tooth projection which passes through a radial hole a<2> in the nut and engages a longitudinal slot d in the bolt c. The spring b may have two inturned ends passing through holes a<2> in the nut, and the bolt may be provided with four longitudinal slots. The lock is proof against vibration, but may be overridden by means of a spanner.
