Abstract
182,376. Berkel, C. F. M. van. Oct. 3, 1921. Cutting slices in succession. - In a slicing- machine, the last-slice holder is pivotally mounted on and at the side of the meat-supporting table and is movable into and out of the operative position. The clamping-bar 17 is carried on the posts 14, 15, the latter being pivoted at 16 and provided with a spring tending to move it outwards. The last-slice holder is of known construction and comprises spikes 21 carried on a plate 20 which is supported by a bracket 22 pivotally mounted on a post 25. The upper bearing 24 is provided with a vertical slot 27 which engages a pin 26 when the holder is in operation. The plate 20 is manipulated by a lever 28 which is pivoted on the plate 20 at 29 and engages a bracket 35 on the back of the plate and is provided with a bearing-knob 30 and a lug 33 which engages the post 15. On raising the handle 32 the plate 20 is raised to disengage the pin 26 from the slot 27, the lever from the bracket 35, and the lug 33 from the post 15. The plate 20 may then be swung into the inoperative position, i.e. along the edge of the table, and is dropped and retained between two stops. The lug 33 may be reversed to engage the outside of the post 15, in which case the clamping-bar 17 is removed when the plate 20 is moved into the operative position.
