Tyre covers, tools for removing and replacing. -A pair of yokes 10, 11, pivoted together, are given a step-by-step movement around the wheel rim 30 by means of a hand-lever 15, 16 pivoted to the yoke 11, tyre-manipulating tools 34, 39 being detachably mounted on the yoke 10. The yokes are also connected by links 17, 18 and fitted with dogs 20 shaped to engage the rim flanges against which the yokes are alternately clamped and released by screw devices 22, 27. To remove the tyre, the lever 34 is first engaged under the bead, swung into the position shown in Fig. 1, and secured against a plate 31 clamped to one arm of the yoke 10. Fig. 4 shows the tool in use for assembling the tyre bead over the rim flange, the plate 31 and lever 34 being replaced by a bracket 39 having a leading inclined end 42 and a. lug 44 for forcing the raised portion of the bead over the rim flange.
