Abstract

176,600. Brown, G. C. Jan. 26, 1921. Tyres, elastic, and tyre covers, tools for removing and replacing.-An appliance for forcing a valve-stem out of a wheel rim, to facilitate removal of the tyre, comprises a flanged annular support 10 for the rim and lever mechanism for ejecting the valve. The valve-stem 32 is received in a slot 11 in the support 10, which slot is in alignment with a barrel 22 pivoted on a lever 19 mounted on a bracket 16. The valve-stem having been forced into the tyre by actuation of the lever 19, it is dislodged into the position shown in Fig. 4 bv means of a rod 28. The latter, which has a round end to engage the valve-stem, is projected through the barrel 22 by a cranked lever 26.
