Abstract

179,792. Eustice, A. L. April 16, 1921. Fusible cut-outs.-An electric fuse of the enclosed type is providecl with impenetrable deflecting means between the fusible element and a portion of the casing to prevent the substitution of the fusibfe element by a body driven into the casing. The fuse cannot be opened unnoticed to insert another fuse by reason of its construction. The fuse is connected to terminal straps 12 connected to the cups 11 and extending through the shell. Between the straps 12 and the ends of the cups 11 are deflecting means 15, such as hardened steel dises, and these may be embedded in a yielding filling such as asbestos. In a modification, the deflecting-means are hemisplerical,
