Abstract
179,641. Dunglinson, C. Feb. 8, 1921. Bayonet-joint fastenings; fastenings, magnetic. -Electric lamp bulbs h of the bayonet-cap type are locked in their holders i by means of a collar a having a spring catch d hidden in an internal recess b and adapted to engage in one of the bayonet slots k to close it, the catch being withdrawable by means of a magnet. An aperture is formed in the periphery of the collar immediately behind the nose of the catch d and is closed by an iron disc g, which may either be formed as a plug, as shown in Fig. 3, or be attached to the catch. To release the catch, the pole m<2>, Fig. 8, of an electromagnet is applied to the disc g, the magnet being provided with arms m<1> to engage the collar.
