Hydraulic transmission apparatus. - A locomotive is driven by a heavy-oil internal-combustion engine D through hydraulic transmission G and reversing gear, by means of which the speed in either direction can be varied from zero to a direct drive and a variable overspeed. The drive is transmitted through a clutch bevel reversing gear K to a shaft L coupled to the driving-wheels through a rod N and couplings P.
