Abstract

176,710. Wilson, F. H. May 17, 1921. Slippers; connecting uppers to insoles and soles.-Bedroom and house slippers with fabric uppers are constructed as turn-shoes with an indrawn string at the junction of sole and upper. An upper a is stitched direct to a leather sole b with edges which finally overlap a cardboard inner sole e. The edge of the sole b and the upper are sewn together with an enclosing tape binding c within which is a draw-string d. The inner sole e is pasted in place and the ends of the draw-string are secured at d<1> at the instep, thus drawing in the upper tightly over the insole e. The slipper is then turned and a sock f may be added.
