An adjustable end may be provided for the pin 22, to compensate for wear in the cutter. The cutter spindle is driven by a short shaft 3, and to provide for quick changing of the cutter, the bearing 5 can be rocked to one side by loosening the nut 7. The arm 14 which drives the blank is split, and the outer part can be raised about a joist at the top, so as to withdraw the spindle and faceplate 16. Fig. 6 shows the kind of cutter used for railway keys, with forming-cutters 30 and parting-cutter 29.
