175,529. Soc. Anon. des Anciens Etablissements Hotchkiss et Cie, and Hartley, W. T. Feb. 10, 1921. Tools; tool-holder.-Relates to tool-holders of the kind which are split and clamped on the tool which is serrated to prevent its movement under the strain of a heavy cut, and consists in fitting a serrated pad in the holder to engage the serrations on the tool. The serrated portion B<2>. Figs. 1 and 2, of the tool is of dovetail section to fit corresponding grooves in the jaws of the holder. A serrated pad C fits a recess in the holder. In the modification shown in Fig. 3 the pad D is fitted into a recess in the holder and pressed against the tool by a spring.
