Abstract

Gaseous-fuel furnaces.-A water-gas producer B is positioned below a retort A and in the same structure so that the blow gases from the producer are burnt with a secondary air supply in a chequered regenerator H' surrounding the retort, this air being passed through a heating- chamber G prior to combustion. Primary air is admitted at E and secondary air through a pipe F, the hot gases from combustion in chamber H<1> heating the retort and passing through chambers H<2> and H<3> to an outlet.
