Abstract

167,701. Reid, M. Oct. 2, 1920. Tip-buckets.-Apparatus for the automatic tipping of buckets suspended from aerial rope ways comprises a horizontally-swinging lever mounted on a vertical pivot 1 carried by a bracket bolted to the rope. The suspension rod or hanger 6 of the bracket, in passing, moves one arm 5 of the lever from the dotted line to the full-line position shown in Fig. 1, against the action of a spring 4, and thus projects the other arm 7 into register with the lever 8 of the latching-mechanism. The movement of lever 8 is transmitted through linkage to raise the latch from the fork 14 to release the bucket.
