Abstract
Animal, vegetable, and mineral fibrous materials such as wool, cotton, silk, cellulose, leather, asbestos, &c. in the form of threads, fabrics, sacks, cords, paper, cardboard, &c. to be rendered impermeable, fireproof, &c. are carried by a moving endless cloth beneath a tank having a constant level of impregnating-liquid and provided with perforations from which drops of definite volume of the impregnating material fall in a regular manner over the surface under treatment. Sacks, after impregnation, are piled and submitted to the action of heat and are then separated and suspended in a dryer which may be heated.
