Abstract

163,689. Schneider et Cie. May 18, 1920, [Convention date]. Adjusting centrally-pivoted axles for steering.- A tractor comprises front and rear centrallypivoted axles the rear axle being also movable about a longitudinal pivot. The axles are deflected by means of toothed sectors mounted thereon and engaged by a common worm gear. The front axle B supports the main frame A by springs H and is centrally pivoted thereto. The rear axle C supports the main frame by a transversa spring M centrally pivoted on a longitudinal sleeve K mounted in a frame G<1> which is pivoted at E to the main frame. The frame G<1> is provided with depending lugs G<2> between which the axle C rides, and is fitted with a toothed sector G, engaged by a hand-operated worm I for steering, a similar frame and sector F being carried by the front springs.
