Abstract

162,526. Barclay, T., Round, H., and Broderick, R. A. April 15, 1920. Inhalers. - A detachable cap or shield made of absorbent cotton gauze is fitted to the facepiece of apparatus for administering anµsthetics in order to prevent the face of the patient from coming into contact with the actual material of the face-piece. The gauze is changed for each patient. The face-piece a is of any usual form and is provided with the usual inflated rim a'. Over the face-piece is stretched the gauze c which is made with a gusset-like edge c' through which passes a piece of elastic d to retain the gauze in position.
