Abstract
162,157. Nyborg, T. G., and Higgins, M. F. March 15, 1920. Belt fastenings.-The straps a, b of hinged belt fastenings are passed around tubular sockets h. to which they are secured by punching parts of the straps into holes k in the sockets, and are riveted to the belt ends. A hinge-pin i, passe:l through the sockets h, is secured to position by a pin m and washer l. Where the straps are cut away opposite to the ears on the other strap, they are provided with wings g, which are bent to grip the band ends so that they lie approximately in lines tangential to the pulley. The inner sides of the straps a, b are so curved that contact with the pulley takes place at the strap ends and at the ears. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 162,402.
