Abstract

161,399. Hardware, T. Feb. 21, 1920. Balances, links and stays for; stops and supports for beams and scale-pans.-The leg member 9, Figs. 1, 4 and 5, of a counter scale is produced by a stamping, pressing, or equivalent operation from sheet metal. Shoulders 13 act as stops to limit the movements of the beam. The leg member is integral with or is riveted to, a bracket 6 resting on knife-edges 5 and carrying the scale pan support 8. A semi-circular portion 14 avoids the end of the beam. The lower end of the leg member 9 carries a plate 15, Fig. 6, attached by a screw and bv a pressed-out portion 18. A stay 10 embraces the reduced end of the leg member and is supported by the plate 15. When applied to a scale having a beam formed of two parallel side-by-side members, the leg member may be formed as shown in Fig. 8.
