Abstract

In stills for treating ammoniacal liquor to separate ammonia, which is used to form ammonium sulphate, in which the liquor is passed down a primary still to separate sulphuretted hydrogen and carbon dioxide, then into a liming chamber and through a final still, a portion of the vapours is withdrawn from the liming chamber and passed through a reflux condenser to separate water and through an ordinary condenser to obtain a concentrated solution of ammonia which may be used to neutralize free acid in ammonium sulphate. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 156,170.
