Abstract

Camphylcarbinol is prepared by reducing oxymethylenecamphor in solution in alcohol, aqueous alcohol, or acetic acid; or as neutral alkali salt in aqueous solution, by means of hydrogen at normal pressure in the presence of finely-divided nickel or cobalt.ALSO:Camphylcarbinol is prepared by reducing oxymethylenecamphor in solution in alcohol, aqueous alcohol or acetic acid; or as neutral alkali salt in aqueous solution, by means of hydrogen at normal pressure in the presence of finely-divided nickel or cobalt.
